I am just starting an order that consists of three B-17s and two FW 190As, all from Scotia. The B-17s were started as a personal project previously before being set aside. They have a coat of OD/grey and the glass has been based. The B-17 on the right has had some fine work around the glass, but unfortunately, I hadn't yet highlighted the glass (probably why these were set aside, grumble).
In an attempt to liven up this dead blog, I thought I would start a series that documents some commission work from beginning to end. The 190s have been cleaned of flash and primed. Next step will be to base the 190s and start working on the bomber's glass.

I recently purchased a membership to TMP, even though I had been frequenting the site for years. I posted an ad for this webstie and received more hits in one day than I have received since the beginning. Plus, at least one person has expressed interest in ALL my finished product. TMP, you just got a long-term member...
I finally figured out my camera, lighting, etc. As you can probably tell, the pics are of a much better quality and, I think, show my work off better. Comments appreciated.
I have put a few planes on the "Available Items" page, most of which were odds and ends that I had lying around.
Right no, I am working on Corsairs, Gladiators, Wildcats, FW 190As, Zeros, AVG P-40s, and CR 42s. See the messy workbench pics below. Got back to working on planes this morning. Canopies done on P-47s, P-38s, and P-40s. Also working on some Gladiators.
I am a leader for our local Cub Scouts, and my den just crossed over into the Boy Scout Troop. As a gift to them, I made and painted an arrow for each of them with stripes that represent all the acheivements they earned over the past five years. Last Monday was our cross-over ceremony where we gave the arrow to them. Below are some pics of the reason I didn;t get any planes painted during the past week.
The real world has gotten in the way of my hobby time, again.
Not much work done so far since the last post. I tried to put black/yellow checks on the P-47 tails and failed miserably...using three different methods! First, I tried the decals I got a long time ago, I don't even remember who made them. They disintegrated as soon as I tried to slide them off their paper. Checks 1, Jeff 0 Next, I attempted to hand paint the checks with a yellow base and black squares. I wish I had taken a pic of this as it didn't come out completely awful, but was bad enough that I wouldn't want anyone else to have them. Checks 2, Jeff 0 Lastly (and most foolishly) I tried a black extra-fine Sharpie to put the squares on. Not recommended. Checks 3, Jeff 0 So, the P-47s will have red engine cowling trim and red rudder. pics to come. I am also putting canopy panel lines on the P-38s and base coated a couple of FW 190Ds in medium gray for a md gray/dark gray mottle. Also received new bottles of USN blues for Wildcats and Corsairs. Continued putting spars on the biplanes and began painting the next round of planes. I began with some P-47 razorbacks in OD green by request. I also put some matte-coat on my F2A Buffalos.
I finally decided it was time to assemble all my biplanes. They have been sitting around for 7-8 months after a couple of botched CR 42 attempts. Here are some pics of Raiden Gladiators and H&R CR 42s and Cr 32s.
